Kit to consolidate all type of wall

Inject & Consolidate® simplifies all consolidation work on “broken” or seriously cracked masonry, guaranteeing widespread distributionof high-resistance spheroidal hydraulic binders assisted by special cross-linking acrylic resins which perfectly solve problems of adhesion even when dust is present.

It is used to consolidate masonry mortars collapse

When an old building needs to be restored and renovated, one factor which is always a source of amazement, puzzlement and even a few worries regards the number of times the walls in the building have been restructured over the years. Related problems include the opening and subsequent closure of doors or windows with superficial cladding without the necessary structural section restoration, warped and often forgotten flue systems coinciding with fixing areas for new floors or staircases and structural overloading of wooden floors due to changes in use without the necessary adjustments for the purpose etc. All this and much more besides should provide food for thought and highlight the importance of restoring mortar beds, which were almost always thin to start with and close to collapse. Restoration work can be done using special “Inject&Consolidate” grout made with high resistance micronized hydraulic binders with spheroidal elements and cross-linking resins, which can notably increase resistance to “diagonal cutting” and “traction” resulting from the structural fixing generated, as well as resistance to “compression”.

Field of use

Ideal for the consolidation of all types of traditional masonry made of brick, mixed stone, river pebble, cement core, etc. It can be used beneficially to consolidate pillars, vaults or base nuts It is perfect for anchoring tie rods and armature bars as well as fixing detached plaster.

Plaster for containment and cracks

For the containment of injection grout we recommend working with pre-existing plaster or carrying out appropriate sealing work where necessary. If there are major cracks, we recommend positioning injectors on them and carrying out surface filling before injecting.

Specification items

Damaged and/or destabilised walls can be consolidated through injections of liquid strongly desalinated grout obtained by mixing component A TRN100, made with micronized hydraulic binders and high resistance spheroidal elements, with component B – TRB308, an acrylic-based cross-linking aggregation promoter.

Injections must be carried out from bottom to top using gravity systems or a pump with operating pressure between 1.5 and 2 bar, after having created a suitable drilling grid of about 100×100 cm with angled holes (Ø 20-30 mm) over 3/4 of the thickness of the wall, and after having positioned special injectors with separate petals, which enable them to be placed at the desired angles. Injectors must be fitted with a pressure cap for rapid closure and to prevent the consolidating compound from leaking out of holes next to the injected ones.

Injections must be carried out until the wall is completely saturated and repeated the following day to compensate for physiological shrinkage. This procedure is carried out by making new holes in the centre of the previously created grid and repeating the steps described above. The compression resistance values of the injected grout should not be less than 44.0 N/mm2 and checked no less than 30 days after the work has been carried out.

Componente A: TRN 100 Modified sodium bentonites and micronized hydraulic binders

Component A consists of high-resistance micronized hydraulic binders with spheroidal elements which assist movement and capillary penetration inside wall cavities. Heavily desalinized and stable over time, it may be used on all construction types of different masonry textures.

Componente B: TRB 308 Waterproofing fluidifying blend

Component B is created with the use of an acrylic-based cross-linking aggregation promoter. Besides notably increasing the compression resistance of special hydraulic binder TRN 100, it gives it strong vapour permeability properties, preventing areas of unwanted condensation.

The use of TRB 308 in the mix means that the preliminary washing which is usually carried out is not required, guaranteeing perfect adhesion even in the presence of dust or fatty substances.

Disposable injectors

These special patented injectors make it possible to use special consolidating grout either by pouring or using a pump.
The spout has an adjustable external diameter and can easily be connected to different types of hose, while the internal diameter is compatible with all pumps which have a standard sealing cartridge spout. The tolerances of the perforation diameters make it possible to use a range of tips from 20 to 30 mm. The injectors are guaranteed to adapt to corners which have a different perforation angle by separate nozzles in the fixing crown in the injectors.
